Advanced Workshop - Summer 2025

Our weekly Tuesday night Advanced Lab classes are geared for advanced-level performers who want to master additional tools, techniques, and approaches to performance-level improvisation. Student will work together as an improv team and perform at least once on stage publicly during our class series.

Classes will explore:
- Discovering the story of the scene and anchoring the characters there
- Creating & using memorable characters
- Learning/Using core acting skills to become more capable scripted/unscripted actors
- Polishing use of entrances, exits, and edits
- Learning clap, sweep, tag, bold entrance, and transformation based editing
- How to excel at scenes with three or more people
- Understanding story structure and leveraging it to your advantage
- How to use acting techniques to anchor and improve improvisation
OUR CLASSES ARE CAPPED AT 10 PARTICIPANTS so we can more personalized feedback and time to work.
PREREQUISITES: Participants in this class series MUST have already completed our Intermediate Lab series or an Intermediate class series at another theater.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
David Koff is the Founder of Change Through Play and has been a professional actor and improviser for 30 years. He's used improvisation to help train actors, business leaders, educators, and recovering addicts.
